Hello! This is homestay Korea. We’re about to launch Home Stay Korea’s first tour program by the host! The first tour we’re going to show you today is a “SuwonHwaseong&Bongnyeongsa Healing Tour” of Kim Jong-deok host. Enjoy the Suwon Healing Tour, which will rejuvenate your busy modern life. While you look around Suwon Hwaseon, you could take a rest. You can find healing at the temple of Bongnyeongsa Temple, the training center for female monks.
Introduction of the tour
Visit Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, a world heritage site. In Suwon, where traditional and modern cultures coexist, you can enjoy a ride on Hwaseong Trolley and archery experiences in a heart-opening grass square. Then, visit the temple of Bongnyeongsa Temple, the training center for female monks, which is a quiet place of thought. It’s a temple where you can purify your mind and reflect on yourself. And you would find the joy of life even more, so we invite you to the Suwon Hwaseong tour.
Departure point and time
This tour departs from the bus stop for shuttle bus of Korean Folk Village(situated in front of Exit 4) at 11:00 am (Duration: 5-6 hours)

During the tour, the journey will be carried out by the host’s car (included in the tour price).
Tour Course
- Bongnyeongsa Temple(Duration: 1~1.5 hours)
Bongnyeongsa Temple was founded in the 4th year of King Huijong’s reign of Goryeo. It is a place where Buddhist female monks train with the spirit of Gwanggyo Mountain in Suwon. Monks study Buddha’s ideas under a tree that is more than 800 years old. The calm atmosphere here will help you clear your dizzy mind.
- Ride on Hwaseong Trolley(Duration: a half hour)
This Trolley circulates the main tourist points of Suwon Hwaseong Fortress and was built on the motif of King Sunjong’s car and the king’s palanquin during the Joseon Dynasty. You can visit several tour points such as Hwaseong Haenggung Palace, Yeonmudae, Hwahongmun Gate, Jangan Park, Hwaseomun and Paldalsan with audio guides.
- Korean traditional archery experience(Duration: a half hour)
Jang Yong-young, a military officer of King Jeongjo’s personal guard, was trained and trained in martial arts at Yeonmudae (Dongjangdae), Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, 220 years ago. At this site, you can look back on those days. You can shoot a total of 10 shot, aiming at the bear target that was only available to kings of the Joseon Dynasty. You can indulge in the beauty of archery in the East, which is different from archery in the West.
- Visit and Shopping in Suwon Jidong Market (Duration: an hour)
Jidong Market, which has been around for over 100 years, contains the affection and culture of the local people. It is a permanent market formed against the backdrop of Suwon Castle. Among the nearby Paldalmun area, it is a food market that deals with a variety of traditional foods such as sundae, meat, agricultural and fisheries products, fish, vegetables, rice cakes, and raw fish. Jidong Sundae, one of the most famous restaurants in Jidong Market, was created about 15 years ago when about 20 sundae restaurants were crowded. Sundae, chicken, and Suwon Galbi are famous for their unique experience and are revisiting Suwon within a year.
Instructions for the tour
1. Please be sure to pay attention to the gathering time.
2. This tour is a long walk, so we recommend comfortable clothes and sneakers.
3. If you have a disease in relation to a particular food, please tell your guide in advance.
4.The Korean traditional archery experience is not allowed for children under the age of seven.
5.In case of rain, no ride on Hwaseong Trolley Korean traditional archery experience will be carried out (the price will be adjusted accordingly)
